Civil Rights
The United States Constitution guarantees everyone equal protection under the law. But that is not how it is applied. American men and women continue to be unfairly targeted and victimized because of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religious beliefs. At Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge, we stand up for those who are victimized by the police, the government, and those who are otherwise in power.
We have taken on some of the most challenging cases in the country against systemic racial and gender discrimination, police brutality, socioeconomic inequality, institutional violations of civil rights, and prisoner neglect and abuse. As trial lawyers, there is nothing more important to us than protecting and defending the civil rights of those who are disadvantaged and advocating for change to even the playing field.
Our cases often seek redress against law enforcement for excessive or unnecessary force, and violations of Section 1983 and the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution. Our lawyers also handle cases brought under Title VII, Title IX, and other federal laws designed to preserve your rights. At Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge, we strive to help safeguard our clients’ rights and ensure that everyone receives due process under the law.
