Sofia Villeda is an associate attorney who focuses her practice on complex civil matters, including toxic torts and personal injury litigation.
Sofia earned her law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law, focusing her studies on civil litigation and earning a certificate in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. While working toward her degree, Sofia volunteered at Chicago Kent’s in-house civil litigation clinic for a year, working primarily on employment discrimination and harassment, contract, and civil rights matters. Sofia is also a Certified Court Mediator for the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution. She has facilitated various mediations between parties in Cook County, which has allowed her to gain valuable experience in the court system, while also exposing her to different areas of the law.
Sofia joined HME, as a law clerk, in February 2023. Prior to joining HME, Sofia clerked for the Cook County States Attorney’s Office, and other firms across the city that specialize in personal injury and real estate litigation.
In her free time, you can find Sofia at her favorite pilates studio, running along the lake, and watching reality television with her rescue dog, Dot.
